About the Service Department

Our aim is to provide a quality customer service, building on an established and experienced service/administration team who are equipped to deal efficiently with the demands of a busy, modern service department.

Training as you would expect is ongoing, and we strive to ensure our team are ‘up to the minute’ with new products and procedures, with both in house and manufacturer training. Quality workmanship is important to us, and many of our service team have been awarded Master Service Technician status with major engine manufacturer Briggs & Stratton. Together we form an efficient, evolving unit along with the other departments here at Rochfords, and look forward to being of service to you.

Domestic Service and Repairs

Each year we are under pressure in the spring to service and repair machines ready for the new season. Occasionally this can result in a 6-week turn around of work.

Why not take advantage of our quiet period, excellent workshop facilities and Manufacturer trained engineers to ensure that your machines are serviced to the highest standards and ready in good time. With in season, and end of season Servicing (July to December inclusive) we can offer a quick turn round, subject to parts availability.

Low Cost Garden Service Contract -

If your machine is under 3 years old, have you considered a service contract, which will include:-

·    A full menu service (you only pay for the parts use, labour is included in the annual contract price).

·    Free collection and delivery throughout the contract period (within a 15 mile radius). For distances greater, please enquire for our transportation cost.

·    Priority turnaround in season to minimise down time.

·    Tractors are thoroughly cleaned and polished.

·    We offer a professional service and above all peace of mind.

Service contracts are available from £157 plus vat.  (Per annum)

Note - service contract services are carried out between July and December

Please remember; new machines may require a service using genuine parts and lubricants to qualify for a second year warranty, e.g. John Deere, Hayter, & Westwood.

Professional Service and Repairs

Have you ever stopped to think how much your machines really do a year?

If your machine has done only 220 hours, compare that to a car, which at an average speed of 45 miles per hour, for 220 hours, will have covered 9,900 miles.

Cars have large engines and cruise along using about 35 % of maximum load. Engines in off-road equipment work much harder- 75 % of maximum load is not unusual. To add to that cutting cylinders and mower decks are often expected to work under extreme conditions especially if worn or poorly adjusted. Then there are the components that hold it all together and drive it along. This all means that over the same 220 hours, an off-road machine will work much harder than a car.

Consider also the consequences of a breakdown. The cost is often a large percentage of a service cost. However, the true cost of a breakdown includes the down time of the machine, possible hire or use of other equipment, and an effect on customer satisfaction. For instance a golf course may suffer customer dissatisfaction from the Tees or Fairway not being to the usual standard.
