Electric Disc Shredders
Disc Shredders use a fast moving disc to cut material as it is fed into the machine, usually with a pair of razor sharp blades slicing the matrial as it passes through. These are ideal for processing green waste, hedge clippings, and other small, loose material, resulting in a shredded mulch ready for bagging or composting.
Electric Gear Shredders or "Silent Shredders"
Gear Shredders are more suitable when shredding woody material and branches, as their gear type blades pull material through, with a cut and crush mechanism providing perfect woodchips for compsoting or even decorating your paths and borders. The pulling motion creates a self- feed effect, requiring much less effort to use, and can be easily reversed at the flick of a switch. Because of their slower mechanism these shredders are much quieter in use, leading to their common name of "silent shredders."
